Matt Halpern performed at the second day of the London Drum Show 2014. He was accompanied by Periphery bass player Nolly Getgood who played a good bit with him. Matt Halpern's kick ass solo took about 25 minutes and this video channel features some highlights of that drumsolo.

Matt Halpern (Baltimore, MD, 1983) is former drummer for Animals As Leaders and current sticksman in the band Periphery. He joined Periphery in March 2009, replacing Travis Orbin(Sky Eats Airplane). Matt plays both with matched and traditional grip.
Biography:
A Baltimore native, Matt Halpern started playing the drums at the age of 3. With private lessons, Matt acquired a deep knowledge of drumming and a love for playing all genres of music. At a young age Matt Halpern was performing throughout the Northeast weekly. After college Matt toured extensively with many bands and eventually joined up with instrumental group, Animals as Leaders.
From there Matt Halpern had the opportunity to join progressive metal band Periphery, and he’s been with them ever since performing and touring all over the world.
Matt Halpern is highly regarded as a very active drum instructor and participant in the expansion of music education.
In 2008, Matt founded Bandhappy the only online market place for live music lessons from musicians from all over the world. With Bandhappy, fans and musicians can take lessons with their favorite artists and teachers via custom video chats. At the end of 2014 Matt had to shut the website down due to his education activities and his work with Periphery
