Chris Pennie played drums in Dillinger Escape Plan. He replaced departed Coheed and Cambria drummer Joshua Eppard in November 2006, and is currently involved in side project Return to Earth.
With a growing reputation built on the strength of his high-energy, diverse playing style, Chris Pennie is one of today's most vital drummers. As a founding member of The Dillinger Escape Plan, Chris earned a reputation for breaking down musical barriers. Listening to bands as diverse as The Police, Kool and the Gang, and Metallica while growing up, Chris absorbed many different styles of music.
Chris Pennie got his first drum kit at the age of twelve. After attending the famed Berklee College of Music in Boston as a synthesis major, Chris, along with guitarist Ben Weinman, formed The Dillinger Escape Plan in early 1997. Through extensive touring, the band built a devout international following, and earned a reputation as one of the most exciting live bands in the world.
Chris Pennie left the band in 2007 and soon joined up with Coheed and Cambria. Return to Earth is Chris's first "official" side project.
