Remo Belli receives Lifetime Achievement Award The MIPA Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Remo D. Belli, the Italian-American founder and CEO of Remo Inc, one of the world\'s largest drum and drumhead manufacturers.
Opening its doors in 1957, Belli\'s firm quickly made news with the first big change in drum construction since man first stretched an animal skin over wood. He revolutionized the music world when he decided Mylar polyester films would make great drumheads.
Remo Belli perfected the first practical synthetic drum heads — now exported to more than 100 countries — and draws upon that success to further the understanding of music and its ability to improve people’s lives. Recently Remo funded a landmark scientific study showing that group drumming can help stimulate the body’s natural defenses against cancer and other diseases.
