At age fifteen, Karl Van Den Bossche decided to learn an instrument because most of his friends were joining bands, and he wanted to be part of the scene. Karl chose percussion and his career took off from there. Years of hard work have paid off for the London-based percussionist/drummer who has toured and performed with The Brand New Heavies, Des'ree, Robert Palmer, Maxwell, and Lighthouse Family. Karl has also recorded with Ana Torroja (Puntos Cardinales), Basia (Basia On Broadway) and Sade (Best of Sade).



Karl's musical influences include Morrisey Mullen, Dizzy Gillespie, Paulinho Da Costa, Weather Report, Sting and, in his words, "the entire population of Latin America". He began with bongos, but has increased his repertoire to include congas, drums, and assorted percussion.
