The Drum Show is a brand new event for UK drummers and percussionists to be held on September 17th-18th at the MK Arena in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, roughly 55 miles (88 kms) from London.
The Drum Show is three events in one, with the exhibition area complemented by the National Drum Fair and the drumBEAT world record attempt also taking place over the weekend.
The National Drum Fair will allow visitors to get hands-on with rare and classic drums, find spares for restoration projects and more.
Organised in memory of Charlatans drummer Jon Brookes, drumBEAT aims to break the world record for the largest number of drummers playing the same pattern simultaneously by bringing together 1001 drummers (on full kits) at Stadium MK on Sunday September 18th.
The record attempt is being held in support of the Brain Tumour Charity and is being organised by Natal Drums among others. Aquarian, Shaw Sticks, Rhythm Magazine, Cympad, Hearos, and several other manufacturers are also contributing to the event by providing hearing protection and other items free of charge to all who take part.
According to the organisers of The Drum Show, who are also running The Guitar Show, drum brands such as Tama, Zildjian, Natal, Schlagwerk, Aquarian, Vic Firth and Ufip have already confirmed.
