Gavin Harrison is versatile in music, as well as he is on his drums. Nowadays best known for his incredible work with Porcupine Tree, he has done much more before and after he joined the band in 2002. After replacing Chris Maitland after the release of the album \"Lightbulb Sun\" in 2002, Gavin can be heard on his recording debut with the band \"In Absentia\" (2003).

There is a huge reference list before and after he became a member of PT. A few names Gavin has recorded with: Iggy Pop in 1986, Sam Brown, worked with Dave Stewart, Incognito, Eros Ramazzotti, Lisa Stansfield and - of course- many releases with Porcupine Tree since 2002. He won the Modern Drummer magazine readers\' poll for \"best progressive drummer of the year\" consecutively in 2007 and 2008. In 2009 Gavin released his second collaboration with 05Ric entitled \"Circles\".

Besides his recordings and live work with loads of artists, he found the time to get into the instructional part of his skills as well. Gavin released several methods like Rhythmic Horizons, Rhythmic Visions, Rhythmic Perspectives and Rhythmic Illusions.

As announced above, Drummer Live has added Mark Richardson on the schedule for June 14. Mark has a successful professional career with some top UK bands. He started out playing with Little Angels, who over a period of ten years toured with such acts as Guns ‘n’ Roses, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Bon Jovi and, is with Skunk Anansie since 1995.

The organisers have moved Derrick McKenzie and Sola Akingbola to Sunday 14th June to make this British Drummer Live day with the final weekend line-up as follows;

The Clem Burke Drumming Project
Also confirmed at the show is a demonstration from The Clem Burke Drumming Project, organised by the University of Chichester and University of Gloucestershire. They will be explaining the health, well-being and fitness benefits of drumming with guest drummer Darrin Mooney (Primal Scream/ Gary Moore) who will put himself through an incremental drumming test to exhaustion whilst wearing the latest ‘state-of-the-art’ sports science technology. Watch in amazement as he battles to keep pace with the ultimate drum test. This will be an event you will never forget.

Free drum lesson
New to this years show, will be a chance to have a free drum lesson in association with Tech Music Schools
Their 45 minute lessons will be open to visitors of LIMS where you will be able sign up for the classes. Small group lessons will be held on drums, guitar, bass, vocals and keyboards and will be led by some of the best teachers in the industry. The classes are for all levels of players and will cover subjects such as styles, techniques and performance.

Drummer Live is part of the UK’s Biggest Music exhibition, The London International Music show, which includes The London Guitar Show, Unplugged and Sound Recording and Technology Show. It takes place at www.excel-london.co.uk, now firmly established as one of the UK’s premier (and largest) exhibition venues.
