50 Ways to Leave You Lover
Released in 1975 as the second single from Paul Simon's fourth studio album 'Still Crazy After All These Years,' 50 Ways is one of the most famous grooves in the worldwide drum community. Yet, Gadd's groove on this song is one of many of his game changing grooves that he is known for.

Late in the Evening
Staying close to Paul Simon, his playing with with two pairs of drumsticks on Late in the Evening is just as quintessential. This Mozambique based rhythm is on Simon's 1980 album 'One-Trick Pony'. The drummers on 'Still Crazy After All These Years'
Besides Steve Gadd, other drummers on 'Still Crazy After All These Years' are Roger Hawkins, Dave Mattacks, Grady Tate and percussionist Ralph MacDonald. The album was produced by another legend in the industry, Phil Ramone. Ralph MacDonald is playing percussion on 50 Ways as well.

While Steve is known for being on tour a lot, he also loves being in the studio recording for lesser known artists. Just recently we watched him record in The Netherlands for a project called the Duchamps band with percussion player Martin Verdonk.

Or, one from 2006, when he recorded with Italian producer and artist Claudio Passavanti, better known as Sunlightsquare or Doctor Mix on YouTube. The album 'Urban Session' is one that you will not expect when you look at Steve's musical history.

The videos above were recorded during a clinic the day after the release party of Dutch artist Alain Clark's album 'Live it Out'. Steve just loved the music and said yes to recording tracks for the album.

He is a member of James Taylor's All Star Band for many years now with Luis Conte. Last February, their latest album 'American Standard' was released.
