Sascha Waack started his musical career at the age of 7, when his parents sent him to piano lessons. At the age of 9 he and a friend were watching a music program when, all of a sudden, he saw Eric Carr performing “I love it loud” with Kiss. From that point on Sascha was hooked on drums.



Sascha Waack started drumming on everything he could get in his hands, until a relative gave him a bass drum and a 12” tom to practise with. Straight away he started playing along with his parents records and cassettes. As cymbals he used parts of his mom’s oven. Very quickly Sascha started playing in local bands and became the youngest drummer in his area.



Sascha Waack got into his first professional engagement at the age of 19. Until then he had played with almost every known band in his area. He started drumming with Nicole (’81 Grand Prix winner) and her band. Soon after that he got the offer to tour to canada and in the us as a replacement for Bodo Schopf (The Sweet, Falco, MSG etc) with the band Juicy Lucy.



As Sascha came back home from the tour, he had the offer to join the European tour with the Broadway musical Hair. At that point Sascha was 22 years old. Soon the press got interested in the young drummer and followed his way ever since. He stayed with the tour for about 3 years until he got the offer to do the European tour with the original West End musical production of the Rocky Horror Show, which he played for about 5 years.



In retrospect, Sascha Waack recalls his time playing musicals “the most important time in his life” as a professional drummer. Working on such big productions with older and much more experienced musicians, and having the weight of responsibility for a whole show on his sholders has turned him into a real professional.



During all this extensive touring, usually ten months a year, Sascha also found the time to play on various records, gig’s and also for workshops like the Frankfurt Musikmesse in 1999 and 2003. Sascha kept busy by playing musicals and shows such as Ohne Geht’s Nicht in 2003, Broadways Very Best in 2004, and the Original USA Gospel Singers in 2005. He also returned to the Rocky Horror Show in 2005 to finish the European tour in a sold out Theatro Nationale for 4 weeks.



In 2006 Sascha Waack teamed up with German rock giant Peter Maffay's guitar player Frank Diez, and with German rock band Elliot, with whom he toured with their V-Tour until the end of the year. In December 2006 he started his second Original USA Gospel Singers tour.



Sascha Waack also recorded albums for artists such as Joyce "Baby Jean" Kennedy (Mothers Finest), Biber Herrmann, Susan Ebrahimi, and Jan S. Eckert during the year and hopes to see you at one of the gigs.
