Pat McDonald currently holds down the drum duties with The Charlie Daniels Band (CDB). Based out of Nashville, CDB is one of the busiest acts on the Nashville scene. Although billed as a "country" act, a mixed bag of musical styles combine to make the band much more than just straight country. A surprising combination of driving rock, latin, fusion, gospel, and funk as well as country makes CDB a very unique band in today's musical landscape. Charlie himself calls his music simply "American music" and doesn't cater to anyone's expectations. As a result, Pat McDonald is allowed to stretch his creative wings and draw from his varied stylistic background to drive the band.



In addition to touring the world with CDB, Pat McDonald also maintains a regular schedule of session work, freelancing and teaching.



Pat McDonald has performed and/or recorded with a long list of artists over the years including such names as Leon Russell, Garth Brooks, Victor Wooten, Dickey Betts, Reese Wynans, Dash Crofts, Louie Shelton, Tanya Tucker, Jimmy Hall, Bonnie Bramlett, Johnny Neel, Jim Horn, Lee Roy Parnell, Billy Ray Cyrus, Ricky Medlocke, Tracy Byrd, Travis Tritt, Dan Baird and many others.
