As a musician, comedian and writer, Jon Wurster has played the drums professionally for 25 years, written for shows such as "Monk" and has recorded and/or performed live with stars such as Katy Perry and Charlie Daniels.
Jon has been the drummer for indie rock pioneers Superchunk since 1991. He has also lent his percussive talents to such artists as Robert Pollard, Ryan Adams, R.E.M., Alejandro Escovedo, Marah, and Rocket from the Crypt. He has also worked with Bob Mould, Jay Farrar, Ben Gibbard, The New Pornographers, Guided by Voices, Marah, Alejandro Escovedo, A.C. Newman, Chris Stamey and Peter Holsapple, Inspiral Carpets, and E, The Minus 5.
Jon Wurster has been drumming for The Mountain Goats since 2007.
Jon Wurster has been one half of a radio comedy duo with Tom Scharpling since 1997. The two have released five cds, the most recent being 2007's 'The Art of the Slap'.
