Pianist Xavi Torres and drummer Jamie Peet explore rhythm, space, and interaction in this duo performance from Amsterdam Magic.

Written specifically for this collaboration, the music balances structure and freedom, allowing groove, texture, and spontaneous interplay to emerge naturally. TorresÂ’ piano lines move between lyricism and rhythmic drive, while PeetÂ’s highly responsive drumming shapes the music from within, creating a dynamic and deeply conversational duo.

Amsterdam Magic is a collection of original duo compositions by Xavi Torres, each dedicated to a musician who has played a meaningful role in his artistic journey since settling in Amsterdam. Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Jared Sacks, the album captures the full intimacy and immediacy of these musical exchanges.
