Here's a clip of Meinl Cymbal artist and jazz drummer extraordinaire, Mr. Ralph Peterson. This clip is courtesy of our friends at Memphis Drum Shop, who were gracious enough to host Ralph at their studios last week to tape numerous cymbal videos as well as a webcast that just aired in its entirety on Tuesday of this week.
You can watch the entire webcast at www.youtube.com/watch?v=nN2YMGAKrNY and it needs to be said that it is 100% worth your while, no matter what your style of music is. In addition to his long and storied career as a jazz musician, Ralph is also a professor at the Berklee College of Music. After watching this video, you'll see why. His breadth of experience and the wisdom that he has to impart are huge.
The song here is an original composition called "Back to Stay." Ralph's cymbals from left to right, if sitting behind the kit, are as follows:
- Byzance 14" Extra Dry Thin Hihats
- Byzance 21" Jazz Nuance Ride
- Byzance 18" Extra Dry Thin Crash
- Byzance 22" Jazz Symmetry Ride
- Byzance 20" Extra Dry Thin Crash
- Byzance 19" Extra Dry Thin Crash
