This year’s Drummies had some surprises.
Travis Barker (mainstream pop and punk drummer), Aaron Spears (r&b and studio drummer), and Benny Greb ('The Language of Drumming' as best dvd and best drum clinician) were the biggest winners: each artist won in two categories.
For the fourth time in a row Neil Peart got a Drummie award as best drummer, Alex Acuña was awarded as percussionist of the year.
Pearl was the industry's two-time winning brand with their Eliminator Demon Drive Pedal and Jingle Cajon.
