Dutch progressive metallers Textures, featuring Stef Broks on drums, have issued an update. Freshly returned from a Europen tour with All that Remains and a gig at Belgian festival Graspop Metal Meeting last Friday, the band a preparing a new UK tour, various appearances at Dutch festivals/shows and an exclusive performance at Alhama Metal Madness in Spain. The musicians state:\"In September we will continue writing our new album which we hope to start recording in November. We set our minds to a 2008 spring release, of course followed by a big number of new shows to support the new material. We can\'t wait to crush you all with new songs!\"
More news about Broks: the drummer will be stand-in drummer for the band Virtually Nothing during their their gig at Plein Open Fest in The Hague, Holland on the 14th of July. Comments Broks on his collaboration with Virtually Nothing:
\"Around 2005 I was a one-day bandcoach for them. We wrote a song together for a local contest. Now they asked me to be their one-day stand-in drummer and I accepted the job. Hell Yeah, it will be my first non-Textures gig in yeaaars!\"
Textures\' latest album, \'Drawing Circles\', was released in April 2006 via France\'s Listenable Records. The band\'s self-produced debut cd, \'Polars\', was originally issued through the group\'s own label and was later re-released through Listenable.
