\"I had my moments, I\'ll tell you that. Some of these people here can attest to that. We had a couple bad nights, but we made it. I\'m happy to have my record back.\"
Amazingly, Russ continued playing for 120 continuous hours in accordance with Guinness World Records guideline and sanctions. Under Guinness rules, the drummer got five-minute breaks every hour, breaks he could use to run to the bathroom - or rollover for a handful of catnaps.
Russ Prager was sponsored by Pearl drums, Sabian cymbals and Vater drum sticks.
All funds donated in support of Prager\'s attempt are donated to Sacramento\'s Easter Seals, an organization helping people with a disability.
World records
Russ Prager earned his first title in 2003 for 58 hours of marathon drumming. A few months later he tried to break his own record but his second claim was denied by Guiness World Records due to \"a couple of minor paper work glitches in his verification\".
In January 2004 the record set by Russ was broken by Indonesian Kunto Hartono, playing for 72 hours.
In July 2004 British drummer Allister Brown played for 78 hours.
That same week Arulanantham Suresh Joachim, a Canadian of Sri Lankan Tamil ancestry, broke the record playing for 84 hours at the Magic Factory in Zürich, Switzerland.
In 2008 Link Logen from North Canton, Ohio started on Friday 27th June and played on to Tuesday 1st July, making the record 86 hours and 30 minutes.
In 2008 Allister Brown once again set a new world record, playing for a massive 102 hours and 49 minutes.
Russ Prager may not enjoy his title for a long time, as Troy Yocum is planning to beat the record, starting on April 28, 2009.
