The Hydromatics started out in 1999 as a tribute to the legendary Sonic\'s Rendezvous Band. In the line-up were Amsterdam\'s Tony \'slug\' Leeuwenburgh from BGK and Loveslug, Nicke Royale from swedish band the Hellacopters and original Sonic\'s Rendezvous member Scott Morgan also know from his Detroit group the Rationals in the late \'60s.

The band released 2 records up until now with mostly unreleased Sonic\'s Rendezvous songs and originals. Three years after their last tour through Europe, Scott Morgan and Tony Leeuwenburgh decided it was time for a third record.

At this time Nicke Royale already left the group and the recording line-up was completed with Ries Doms on drums and Aussie Kent Steedman from the Celibate Riffles on guitar. They soon signed to the Dutch label Suburban Records.

In march 2007 the group came together for two weeks, to write and record a new Hydromatics record. This new record is entitled \"The earth is shaking\" and will be in stores from October 22nd.
