Matt Halpern of prog-metal giants Periphery and Todd Sucherman of mega platinum band Styx are the latest artists who are confirmed for the London Drum Show, set to take place in association with Drummer Magazine on November 8-9 at Olympia Conference in London, United Kingdom.
About Matt Halpern Matt supported himself from the age of sixteen by teaching and gigging. After leaving college, Matt joined instrumental group Animals As Leaders.
In 2009 he joined Periphery, who released their second full-length album in July 2012.
Matt founded Bandhappy.com in 2008, a website dedicated to bringing lessons to people from their favourite drummers while they are on tour, either online or in person. His vision enables working musicians to keep their lessons running while they are away on the road; the website deals with scheduling, communication, payment and facilitation of lessons.
Matt is also an experienced educator and clinician endorsed by Mapex drums and Meinl, performing numerous international clinics for Mapex and slot at Meinl Drum Fest in 2012. Matt was voted 'Runner Up' in Modern Drummer Magazine's Readers Poll for 'Best Clinician/Educator' in 2013. He was awarded 'Best metal drummer' by the same magazine's Readers Poll last year.
