According to the band, Sven was forced to leave the group \"due to a general lack of time because of his day job and stuff.\" Abandoned has recruited Jan S. Mischon as Sven\'s full-time replacement.

Jan already filled in for Sven during a recent tour with Tankard. He also helped the band out when they played Wacken Open Air and Earthshaker festivals in 2005.

Jan Mischon is endorsing Mapex drums, Remo drumheads and Vic Firth sticks.

Abandoned is planning to enter the studio in May to begin recording its third album for a late 2009 release.

The band\'s last cd \'Thrash You!\', featuring Konrad “Konny” Cartini on drums, was released in June 2007 via Dockyard 1.
