The 20th anniversary of Australia's Ultimate Drummers Weekend (AUDW 2012) will take place at Darebin Arts & Entertainment Centre in Preston, a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria from August 24th, 25th & 26th.
AUDW 2012 features a stellar line-up with great artists such as Dave Weckl (Dave Weckl Band, Chick Corea), Virgil Donati (OTV, Allan Holdsworth), clinic superstar and educator Thomas Lang, multi-percussionist Pete Lockett, jazz educator John Riley plus international educator and drumbassador Dom Famularo.
Also confirmed are Australian jazz icon Graham Morgan, Lee Moloney (Diesel, Jimmy Barnes, Alex Lloyd), Chilean born percussionist-composer Alex Pertout in duet with Sri Lankan born vocalist-composer Nilusha Dassenaike, The D² Drumline, Joel Prime (voted Australia's best up and coming drummer in 2011) plus percussionist, author and composer Dave Black.
Drum expo AUDW 2012 also features workshops and a drum expo with the biggest brands in drums, percussion, cymbals and electronics. Expect daily product demos, artist autograph signings and everything being "on sale".
Pricing A full 1 day pass costs $79.95 AUD. This includes one concert, two workshops and one expo pass.
A weekend pass costs $139.95 AUD. This includes two concert (Saturday and Sunday), four workshops and two expo passes.
The mega 3 day pass costs $179.95. This includes admittance to the OTV reunion concert plus two concerts (Saturday and Sunday), four workshops and two expo passes.
