In 2019 Pearl celebrates 20 years of their Masterworks series with Artisan II custom graphics, offers a new Black Mirror Chrome to the Session Studio Select and the company's 35 years of drum rack production that started with Jeff Porcaro, is reason enough to launch a lot of new Icon rack systems and parts. We summarize all the new in the video below, plus the usual extra info we give on all products featured in our videos, like: who is Jessica Hancock?
Artisan II custom graphics In 1999, Pearl launched their first line of drums in the Masterworks series. The goal: to give drummers ultimate control over how their new drum sets are built and customized. Within the Pearl Masterworks series you literally have a huge line of options to choose from, and starting from 2019 the company has added the option of custom Artisan II graphics for your finish.
With Artisan II, an exclusive Pearl-owned method is used to turn the drum shells into a blank canvas. After that, high-definition graphics can be printed directly onto the outer shell ply without affecting the overall tone of the drum.
The Masterworks Sonic-Select kits in the video feature the Heritage and Stadium formulas with a digital reproduction of a hand-illustration by Jessica Hancock titled: Cain & Abel: The Offering. She is a visual artist producing highly detailed drawings with strong geometric elements. The kits on display at NAMM were both purchased by Sweetwater.
Session Series Studio Select in Black Mirror Chrome Introduced in 2018, the Studio Select now has a Black Mirror Chrome finish. The wrap is scratch-resistant and available on all Session Studio Select shell packs, snare drums, and component drums.
