WaveDNA, the developer of Liquid Rhythm midi sequencing and beat creation software, will exhibit at NAMM 2014 in Anaheim, California from January 23-26, 2014. With the help of DJ Shine (Jason Spanu), whose credits include Frank Ocean, Nelly Furtado and Drake, the company will show why its software has been referred to as "the future of rhythm programming" and "the most innovative and cool rhythmic generator" in recent product reviews.
New for NAMM: Liquid Rhythm v1.3 Boasting a completely redesigned user interface and a host of new features, Liquid Rhythm offers musicians, producers and DJs a range of tools to create and experiment with their rhythm tracks.
The BeatForm Shifter One of the new features available in Liquid Rhythm (full version) is the BeatForm Shifter. This feature allows you to 'nudge' BeatForms forward and backward one step at a time with the push of a button. Furthermore, all beats that hit the end of a bar will spin—or loop back—to the other end of the bar. This is really powerful when applied to multiple regions at a time. For example, imagine shifting the busy ending of a bar to the beginning across multiple bars of music. It's a great way to come up with "happy accident" grooves.
BeatForm Tumbler The BeatForm Tumbler is a feature that lets you dial up the complexity of any beat really quickly with sweet looking knobs. The simple looking dial interface is designed to tumble through the BeatForms in the BeatForm Palette and increase the frequency of notes in your beat. Now you can target the intensity or simplicity of any part of a beat and make four-bar loops more musical without spending forty hours manually moving notes around with a mouse. Select different entries in the BeatForm Palette to change what you can dial into the selected regions based on either color codes or the beat locations.
The Velocity Shapers Liquid Rhythm’s velocity controllers allow you to set a range inside of which notes will have a random velocity, and generate a humanized feel. A powerful update to our velocity sliders (available to both versions of Liquid Rhythm) helps you create small build-ups and build-downs in your tracks. For example, imagine being able to quickly create drum rolls with your snares, or shuffling hi-hat grooves that get louder and softer gradually across every other beat.
Guitar Center added to retailer line-up Liquid Rhythm and Liquid Rhythm Intro will soon be sold through Guitar Center. The software products are currently sold by Long & McQuade and distributed by Sonic Sales (Germany, Austria and Denmark), Ibsen Studio (Norway), and available through WaveDNA's website.
