The Pearl Export Series made its return at the Winter NAMM 2013 Show in Anaheim, California. Pearl not only re-debuted with an updated version of the most sold drumset of all time, the company also premiered at the music trade show with redesigned hardware, the Demon Drive Demonator bass drum pedal, redesigned Horacio Hernandez Signature Cowbells, four new cajons, multiple new finishes plus updates for the ePro Live. Pearl Export Series The revamped Export Series now incorporates Pearl’s SST Superior Shell Technology with a blend of Poplar and Asian Mahogany. Its new lugs are specifically designed for minimal shell interaction and maximum resonance and sustain. The Export's rack toms are equipped with Pearl’s new Opti-Loc Mounting System that features a triangular design with two tension rod attachment points and another through one of the drum’s two air vents. Rubber isolators at all connection points allow the drums to vibrate freely for maximum sustain and resonance while providing absolute and wobble-free performance. The 2013 Pearl Export Series come with 830 Series Hardware and a P-930 Demonator Pedal, plus a choice of five finishes.
New finishes Pearl Drum's new finishes include Black Silver Burst and Ultra Blue Fade plus Black Silver Burst and Scarlet Sparkle Burst for the Reference and Reference Pure sets. New Finishes added to the Masters MCX series are Shamrock Green and Ash Fade Tamo. The Pearl Session Studio Classic is anow also availabe with an Antique Ivory and Matte Liquid Amber finish. And Pearl's Vision VBL range now also comes with Prussian Blue and Natural Black Burst finishes.
Horacio Hernandez Signature Cowbells Pearl offers the redesigned Horacio Hernandez Signature Cowbells in five models of varying size and tonal characteristics. Sold individually, these bells are of carbon steel construction with a black powder coat finish and feature many of the key aspects from the original signature models, such as a swiveling mount which allows the player to stack multiple bells on a single post without wingnut interference, as well as two playing surfaces, flat and rounded, to accommodate player position and preference.
New for 2013, the bells feature a Quick Release bracket which mounts on any 3/8 inch post. By affixing the bracket to a post, the bell can be attached by simply dropping it into place ontop of two cushioned pins. Remove the bell by easily lifting it up and off of the mount. Players now have the option to mount the bells in a multitude of conventional playing positions or hold them in their hands for an authentic performance style. Once in place, the bracket can remain mounted to the hardware, making setup and tear-down a breeze. Powder coated in a bright yellow finish, the bracket is included with and is universal for all HH Signature Cowbells.
New Pearl cajons NAMM 2013 also saw the introduction of four new cajons by Pearl Percussion. Added to their exisiting line-up are the Sonic Boom Cajon, the Wedge Tri-Side Cajon, the Brush Beat Cajon, and a Red Sparkle Version of Pearl's Boom Box Cajon.
Redesigned hardware series Pearl completey redesigned their 830, 930 and 1030 series hardware. The cymbal stands have a new clamping system that prevend you from overtightening the stands and feature interchangable, vibration-absorbing rubber feet that can be spiked. You can change the boom stand into a straight one with the hideaway functionality. The stands no longer feature double struts to lighten the weight. The BC-830 and BC-930 feature Uni-Lock tilters for infinitely adjustable cymbal positioning, the Pearl BC-1030 boom cymbal stand features a newly designed Gyro-Lock tilter with a built-in percussion post, topped off with reversible cymbal cup that can be used to control the cymbal range of motion. Also notable: the new Pearl S-1030SL snare stand has a basket that fits drums in extreme sizes from 10-16".
Pearl Demonator bass drum pedal Pearl introduced the Eliminator Demon Drive Pedal in 2009. Now in 2013, Pearl introduces the Demonator bass drum pedal. Featuring the patented characteristics of the award winning Demon Drive pedals, the Demonator is a single-chain drive pedal, equipped with a Demon Style Powershifter longboard, an interchangeable cam and infinitely adjustable beater angle plus Pearl’s Click-Lock spring tension keepers and Control Core Beater. The Demonator single pedal is included in Pearl’s new 930 and 830 Hardware Packs. A Demonator Double Pedal and Double Pedal Conversion Kit are also available.
ePro Live updates for 2013 Pearl also showed the updated ePro Live at NAMM, now featuring 50 more sound sets, downloads and new finishes (Vintage Orange Glass, Vintage Green Glass). RedBox 2.0 got a firmware update to provide an enhanced dynamic range and every kit has been modified to use the pitch-to-velocity function which allows samples to change in pitch when played at different velocities, creating a more realistic performance. E-Pro Live now also supports the addition of two extra crash cymbals. Additional improvements have been made on the panning, EQ, and effects.
Pearl introduced the TruTrac-Hat, a realistic electronic hi-hat which provides the action and sounds of real hi-hat cymbals: just press harder or play louder to hear realistic modulations in pitch, or splash the hats for a real sizzle.
