Benny Golson & Johnny Griffin replace Ron Carter
Unfortunately Ron Carter has had to cancel due to personal circumstances. North Sea Jazz has been able to book the two tenor sax players Benny Golson and Johnny Griffin. They will present a program dedicated to John Coltrane, who died forty years ago. Both Carter and Griffin admired the legendary saxophone player greatly and played with him in the 1950s.

Soothsayers replace Antibalas
The English band Soothsayers will replace Antibalas at the North Sea Jazz Festival on Saturday 14 July. The streets of London, a mix of dancehall and Afro music, hip hop and dub; all these influence the music made by Soothsayers. On the second festival day they will be the closing act on the Yukon stage.

The Soul Seekers replace Ann Peebles & The Dream Team
Due to health problems Ann Peebles cancelled her show at the festival. The Soul Seekers will replace her on Saturday July 14, in the Congo hall.

The Soul Seekers are front-man and lead singer Teddy Campbell; bass guitarist/singer Warryn Campbell; singer and founder of the band Nisan Stewart; guitarist/singer John “Jubu” Smith; singer Gerald Haddon; Charlie Bereal on guitar; on the organ Craig Brockman and drummer Eric Seats.
