Since the release of the Netflix film 'The Dirt' on March 22, 2019, Mötley Crüe is completely revived after the silent period that followed after their two years lasting "All Bad Things Must Come to an End" - The Final Tour in 2015. The success of 'The Dirt' made the band decide to go on tour again. You can watch the official Netflix trailer below.

If the corona virus allows it, a stadium tour is starting this Summer in Jacksonville on Thursday June 18th 2020. The already sold oud tour counts thirty one shows, twenty five stadiums and sold more than one million tickets. Joining the band on tour will be Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.
Of course, Tommy will be playing his new DW kit(s) during the upcoming tour.

In the 2015 article we wrote that Tommy's main gear on stage had Pearl drums, E-Pro Live, Tru Trac Drumheads, Zildjian cymbals, Remo Drum Heads, Ahead drumsticks, Elation Flex LED highlights, and the Maxonix Zero-G® drumstick holder. Tommy also uses Pintech Percussion triggers for his acoustic shells, and to trigger the Bright Beats lights.
Unsure is if he will still be playing the Pearl E-Pro Live, or that he switched brands there as well.

Commenting on coming back to DW, Tommy said

"Welcome back? I never left. I just took a lil journey trying some new things. And speaking of new things, damn they're poppin' at DW. I'm insanely excited about them and the new gear. So stoked to share everything with ya!"

Don Lombardi, DW's Founder, shares the story of Tommy Lee getting back to DW.

"Tommy visiting the workshop to have his pedals tuned. While waiting, he sat at a set of drums John Good was developing. He started playing and wouldn't stop; he was amazed at how the drums sounded.
A light went on in my head that Tommy Lee represented a generation of drummers who hadn't experienced handcrafted drums. A short time later, he bought a kit and a year later he became an official DW Drum endorser."

While Tommy Lee is THE drummer for Mötley Crüe, he is not the only drummer that has played with the band. In 1999, when Tommy Lee decided to pursue a solo career, then Ozzy Osbourne drummer Randy Castillo replaced him. Other drummers that have played with Mötley Crüe are: Josh Freese, Samantha Maloney (after Randy Castillo was diagnosed with cancer), Morgan Rose, Glen Sobel, Harvey Warren and Frank C. Zummo.
