Steve Zimmerman was the original drummer in prog metal outfit Fates Warning. They formed in Hartford, Connecticut in 1982.
With Steve Zimmerman behind the drumkit the band released several early demos before they were invited to contribute a track to the Metal Massacre V compilation in 1984. The label immediately signed the band to a long-term recording agreement and released their debut album, entitled "Night On Brocken" in the same year.
Soon after the band's fourth album "No Exit" was released in 1988 drummer Steve Zimmerman left Fates Warning. Zimmerman was replaced by Mark Zonder.
After Fates Warning Steve played with Image Beyond and Millenium X. In November 2004 he showed up in Interface, recording a 4 song demo/EP at the Homegrown Studios in Deltona.
