"It was simply a passion for metal music that got me started. I loved rock and metal, the next thing for me was to play it. (Same as everyone really!) I chose drums because my mate was learning guitar. I had some lessons at the start which really helped me, and I still apply the things I learned in my playing today. I just built on these with my own style, trying to be open minded and listed to a lot of different styles of drumming. I’m constantly inspired by musicians and drummers I hear. But what started me off with a passion was Iron Maiden at school. My drum hero is Neil Peart though!Simon has received lessons from Eric Hammond, a long-standing teacher who did some extra teaching at the Runshaw College in Leyland, England. Simon got some lessons sort of as an extra on the curriculum when he started college. His first band was at college too: Tombdancer.
