Shinya Terachi (Osaka, 1978) is drummer in Dir En Grey. He is the youngest member of the band. He has been with the band since its inception in 1997 and was previously a member of La:Sadie's.



Shinya Terachi became a drummer because he idolized Yoshiki (ex-drummer and composer of X-Japan).



Shinya Terachi used to perform on drum kits by Ludwig and Yamaha and has used cymbals by Alchemy (a cymbal line from Istanbul Agop). He is currently endorsed by Pearl in Japan and is using a Masters Retrospec kit with Ultracast, Firecracker, and Joey Jordison snare drums from Pearl. Shinya Terachi has also used a version of this kit with rototoms instead of traditional toms. He is also using Sabian cymbals (mostly AA and AAX series) and Remo drum heads (mostly Ambassador and Ebony series).
