Born in Pontypool, S. Wales, Sean Moore now lives in Bristol. He is drummer in The Panic Street Preachers.
Sean is "the quiet one" to most people - in band interviews his comments are an occasional event. His quiet nature makes him a mysterious figure to many Manics fans, who would be interested to hear more of what he has to say! He has done low-key interviews and in them comes across as a very articulate and intelligent man. He married his long-time girlfriend Rhian in July 2000.
On a professional note, Sean drives the songs along with steady yet forceful rhythm - especially on 'The Holy Bible'. 'Faster' and 'PCP' spring to mind as examples of both superb musical talent in composing the drum parts and also the control with which they are handled.
He is a fine musician and is classically trained in Trumpet playing, as is displayed in ‘Kevin Carter’ and ‘Ocean Spray’. He is the perfectionist in the band and is probably happiest with their music post-Richey. During recording for ‘Gold Against The Soul’ he rigged up 17 microphones in order to record his drums and also used unusual percussion in the form of snooker balls being dropped onto a frying pan.
Sean has a fetish for electrical goods and gadgets, and after a tour often returns with bags of accessories. Another obsession is with computer games - he carries a notebook of scores with him at all times. Most of his time on tours is spent either shopping for the latest invention or playing his computer games (especially Sega).
He also enjoys walking his dogs, cycling, and television. Although not quite to the same level as Nicky, Sean is very domesticated and keeps things tidy on the tourbus when he struggles to sleep.
