A case of heterodoxy in action, for over two decades musician Rich Hoak has been involved in playing, writing, and distributing music. Recalls the drummer: "I've been playing music since about 1983: I played in many punk/hardcore bands in the 80's, but they never were very serious as I was a bit drunk and crusty at the time. For a few years before Brutal Truth, I played drums in a band called Ninefinger with Mike Dean from Corrosion of Conformity. Ninefinger's music sounded like Black Flag meets Black Sabbath, with some old C.O.C. crossover metal thrown in."
Richard Hoak joined Trained Attack Dogs (TAD) in 1989, using the moniker Rich Poor, and played with Exit 13 for a while.
He joined grind outfit Brutal Truth after the release of their debut album "Extreme Conditions Demand Extreme Responses", replacing initial sticksman Scott Lewis.
More recently Rich Hoak has focused on the group Total Fucking Destruction, a project called Peacemaker, and handling his own label.
