Reyn Ouwehand is a well known Dutch producer who worked with artists like Pleymo, Marie Amelie, Kane, la Kidda, Dlaudia de Breij, olabola, Linked, Coparck, Mimezine, and Sita.
Ouwehand handles a lot of (drum) programming and (additional) drums among other things.
Born on the 2nd of August in 1973 in Holland Reyn Ouwehand grew up in a village called Katwijk aan Zee situated at the coast of Holland. Reyn's musical career started off with classical pianolessons at a young age. He went to the 'havo voor muziek en dans' in Rotterdam, holland which is a school were you get music or ballet besides your normal courses. He studied 2 major courses: piano and 'toegepaste electronica' which is a study for studio-engineering and synthesizer-programming. In the mean time Reyn was busy making music for videogames for the commodore 64 and amiga from 1988 till 1991 but stopped when he continued his studies at the conservatory in rotterdam at the age of 19.
In 1995 Reyn Ouwehand founded his own company called Prevue Productions and built his first studio. From then on his main focus was production work for record companies. Things went really well and he continues to be much in demand as a producer and as a studio musician, and is building reputation writing film soundtracks.
Now in his third studio Reyn's national production work include famous Dutch acts like Kane, Ellen Ten Damme, La Kidda, Sita, Birgit, Madigan, Silkstone, Handsome 3Some and Wyatt. But he is also gaining territory in France, Belgium and Switserland with acts like Benjamin Biolay, Stephan Eicher, Souad Massi, Indochine, Mayane Delem and Isabelle Boulay.
Already for some years Reyn Ouwehand has been working intensively on his first solo album which will be soon released. The album is going to be a display of the skills reyn has mastered throughout the years and a collaboration with lots of musicians he has been working with for the last decade. Behold...
