Born in Berlin, Germany in 1966, Christoph Schneider plays drums in Rammstein. Previous band he has played in, are Feeling B and Die Firma. His grandmother gave him his first set of drums.
Nowadays Christoph is the drummer in one of Germany’s most original and internationally successful bands, Rammstein. His powerful ‘right in your face’ grooves and beats are the driving force behind Rammstein’S industrial sounds.
Rammstein have sold millions of albums worldwide and have toured all over the globe always maintaining their prolific pace as pioneers of today’s modern art music.
There are no words to describe a Rammstein live show. Their energetic and aggressive stage acting, pyro effects, explosions, industrial sounds combined with the band’s controversial German lyrics make their concerts a true ‘once in a lifetime’ experience.
Schneider has been married twice. He was married to Regina Gizatulina from 2005 to 2009. He married his second wife, Ulrike Schmid, in 2014. Schneider and Schmid have three children.
Schneider's nickname "Doom" comes from the video game of the same name. Schneider needed a name for the German copyright agency, but discovered that there were too many Christoph Schneiders already registered. In a 2010 interview, Schneider said that if he had known that the name would appear on every record he played on, he would have chosen a different one.
He cites Ian Paice, Phil Rudd, Vinnie Paul, and Chad Smith as his main drumming influences
