"I just played along with CD’s and this helped me with my pratical side of drumming. Being with other drummers and hanging around also helped me, I learned from just analizing other drummers and their behaviours. I have to admit that last year I have followed some sticking courses at a local drumschool called Stick Around."Moen does not hesitate to call himself a musician: "It’s all about the feeling of music." The drummer continues:
"My life is music. It started with my grandfather who was a musician, I think he gave me his musical feel. Besides that twelve years ago I was given the opportunity to rehearse with a loaner-kit. It's 2004 now and I play in Fuelblooded and follow an education at SAE Rotterdam/Amsterdam, Sound Engineer. I am trying to start my own recording studio as a sound engineer and producer. My life means making music and producing music."His first kit was a Pearl and he never changed brands. Nowadays Moen plays the Pearl Session Select Series: a black 7 piece setup with double bassdrum. Heads are Remo pinstripes and on the two bassdrums powerstroke4. The set is triggered by Ddrum AT. Moen:
"I just purchased the new Axis pedals, fucking killer awesome. I use only Sabian cymbals all of the AAX-series and 5B sticks of Pearl with wooden tips."Moen names Tony Laureano, Pete Sandoval, Gene Hoglan, Flo Mournier, Mike Portnoy and Virgil Donati as sources of musical inspiration. However: "There are more musical influences which are equally important to me, and maybe they are even more important."
"The most important is the release of the full length CD of Fuelblooded: "Inflict the Inevitable". After that I hope to play as many gigs as possible. I just want to be behind my kit and give some brutal blasts..."
