Born in Argentina but mainly based in Spain, Matias Mingote German is a drummer and percussionist who is is forging a personal path for himself in music, fusing the ideas of many cultures and focusing always on the beauty of the basic sound. The official story says that at the age of eight Mingo's parents discovered that he liked drumming when he turned glasses and plates into a drum set with an amateur’s grip on knives and forks, thereby ruining the tableware…

Matias Mingote German has led his own band, ÑU GRUP, featuring his own 100% original compositions groovin’ around ñu jazz + afrolatinoamerican ideas, and is now working with the MinGOTAN Project, which is a mixture of tangojazz, Argentinian urban-folk and klezmer music.
