With an emphasis on expanding versatility in his career as a professional drummer, Marc Slutsky - who is equally comfortable playing with mellow, introspective songwriters as he is with heavy hitting rock bands - has built a body of work that's earned him a place among the most sought-after live and session players.



As a member of alternative rock band Splender (1998-2003), Marc Slutsky honed his drumming chops both in the studio and through heavy touring with bands such as Third Eye Blind, the Goo Goo Dolls, and Vertical Horizon. Marc recorded two albums with Splender; 1999's Halfway Down the Sky (Columbia Records) produced by Todd Rundgren, and To Whom it May Concern on Clive Davis' J Records in 2001. While in Splender, he also earned the respect and admiration of his drumming peers, receiving write-ups in Modern Drummer magazine.



Marc Slutsky's early drum training took place at The Long Island Drum Center, where he studied with Mike Abbot, Al Miller, and Dave Stark. Marc then enrolled in the Manhattan School of Music, studying with the great jazz drummer and educator, John Riley. After a year at Manhattan School of Music, Marc transferred to SUNY Purchase College, where he studied with Kim Plainfield. He received a Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree.



Marc Slutsky can currently be found behind the drum throne on tour with international recording artist, Philip Sayce. In addition to Splender, Marc Slutsky has also toured and/or recorded with Kylie Minogue, Alexa Ray Joel, Delta Goodrem, Grace Potter, Pink, Hugo, Ben Jelen, Gavin DeGraw, The Damnwells, Kill The Alarm, G.E Smith (SNL BAND), Katie Herzig, Ryan Star, God or Julie, Krista, Megan McCauley, Wes Hutchinson, Granian, The Niagaras, MisUniverse, Big Dismal, Course of Nature, Torture Sermon, and Chris Grace, among many others.



Marc Slutsky has appeared extensively on TV including shows such as X-Factor, The View, Good Morning America, Queen Latifah Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Last Call with Carson Daily, Late Show with David Letterman, Wendy Williams Show, 2010 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting (NBC) with Kylie Minogue, and Jimmy Kimmel Live.



Marc Slutsky also offers the service of providing custom drum tracks recorded in his home studio, Marc's Virtual Drum Studio, for bands or musicians seeking professional-quality drum tracks.
