French drummer Loïc Pontieux is an indpendent artist who has worked as a professionnal drummer since he was 14 years old. Loïc used to play with his dad in clubs on the Cote d’Azur. In 1988 he left Nice to live in Paris. And six month later, Loïc Pontieux was called to play for the end of Veronique Sanson’s tour, to replace Manu Katche.
In 1989 Loïc Pontieux started a world tour with Didier Lockwood (French violin player) for four years. At the same time, he was playing with different artists, such as Florent Pagny, Nicole Croisille, Marcia Maria, Michel Petrucciani, Bernard Lavilliers, Monica Passos, Les Etoiles, Bireli Lagrene, etc.
1994 was the beginning of Claude Nougaro’s tour. Loïc Pontieux played with him for five years. When he was not playing with Claude Nougaro, Loïc Pontieux was performing with various artists playing different kinds of music, including Maurane, Michel Jonasz, Jean Yves D’angelo, Francis Cabrel, Alain Souchon, Zazie, Pascal Obispo, Roger Hodgson, Phil Collins, Tina Arena, Garou, Patrick Fiori, Julie Zenatti, Al Jarreau, Fred Blondin, Eddy Louis, Don Grolnick, Randy Brecker, Flavio Boltro, Jean Lou Longnon, Eric Legnini, Ray Gomez, Jean Marie Ecay, Laurent Vernerey, Fifi Chayeb, Calogero, Alizée, Mylene Farmer, Patrick Bruel, Daniel Levi, Jenifer, Marc Lavoine, Barbara, Jean Louis Aubert, Julien Clerc, Liane Foly, Jean Jacques Goldman, Lorie, Art Mengo, Maxime Le Forestier, and Axel Bauer...
