Kyle Severn joined death metallers Incantation in September 1994 after previous drummer John Brody decided to leave the band. Previously Kyle drummed in Escalation Anger.
For the Canadian leg of the Morbid Angel tour in the Summer of 1998, Kyle Severn was unable to cross over into the country, so a long time friend of the band, Chris Dora (Soulless, Decrepit, Integrity) picked up the drummer slot with only a few short practice sessions. Chris executed the shows extremely well.
In an unfortunate circumstance, returning home from the last date in Dallas Texas, Kyle was involved in a horrible accident with the van flipping over on the highway and the trailer exploding causing equipment to be spewed along the highway. Although non fatal, the injuries sustained to Kyle were a minor setback to the band.
Soon after the accident, Kyle made the decision to leave the band for numerous reasons that were completely non band related. Kyle Severn later joined Vital Remains, though he would return to Incantation over time.
After Kyle Severn decide to leave Incantation in the second half of 1998, the band was searching for a replacement drummer for Kyle. Finally in October Clay Lytle, from South Carolina, formerly of Fatal Aggression, joined the Incantation line up.
Somewhere in 2000 the band rejoined forces with previous longtime dedicated member Kyle Severn on drums. Kyle never left and is currently playing with Incantation all over the world.
