Jan Samson was the original drummer in Belgian metal outfit Sengir. The band was founded by Kris Scheerlinck and Jurgen Cobbaut in 1995. The quest for a drummer didn't last too long as they hired ex-classmate Jan Samson.
With Pieter De Lannoy as lead singer and as second guitar-player the band recorded their first demo in 1996, a mixture between death and doom metal.
In 1998 the band fired their drummer Jan Samson who was soon after replaced by Filip Vinck.
