Harpal Mudhar lives in Chlemsford, UK. He started playing Indian drums at the age of four and then moved on to a full drum kit at eleven after being inspired by his Junior School teacher. A multi-talented musician, Harpal also plays violin in the school Senior Orchestra.
Harpal Mudhar also plays in three bands ranging from Jazz to Rock and has also jammed with the legendary percussionist Bikram Ghosh. Mudhar is inspired by drummers who have the determination to develop an individual sound and strive to defy the stereotype.
In January 2006 Harpal Mudhar was one of the finalists of the Young Drummer of the Year (YDOTY), organised by mikedolbear.com. He made it to the finals again in 2007, this time beating all other eleven contestants.
