Hans Rutten was born on June 3, 1969. He is founding member and drummer of Dutch outfit The Gathering.



The band started in 1989 as a doom metal band but evoluated into delivering an atmospheric, experimental and emotional blend of rock songs, sometimes with electronic elements.



Hans Rutten currently resides in Nijmegen, in the Easth of The Netherlands.



In 2005 Rutten recorded Drive By Wire's debut album. When the band started playing live, they recruited drummer Rob Snijders (ex-Kong, ex-Celestial Season).
