Geert-Jan was the original drummer in Betercore, a political punk band that strated in youth-centre 'Parkhof' in 1997. After a while he switched to play guitar and the band had several line-up changes with different drummers.
In 2002 Geert-Jan switched to drums again. He already played drums in Vitamin X.
Early January 2004 Betercore decides to call it quits. During the 5 years of their existence as Betercore they played almost 100 shows. They've seen a lot of squats, youth-centres, gas-stations, cities, stations, etc, broke many strings, hurted ourselves, ate good and bad food, met a lot of interesting people, played with great and bad bands, and - most imortent - had a lot of fun.
Geert-Jan still plays drums in Beer for Breakfast and Tempers Rise. He also releases other bands on his record label Wastedyouthpowerecords.
