Derek Grant (Detroit, 1977) is best known as drummer in Alkaline Trio, blending the fury and recklessness of early punks with the grace and precision of more modern rockers. Derek also filled in for Josh Freese, playing drums for The Vandals on many of their tours up until 2004.



Derek took the same role with Good Charlotte later in 2004.



Besides being a slammin' drummer, Derek Grant is also a talented multi-instrumentalist, playing guitar and deliver vocals as well. He was even asked to do a Japanese tour with punk band Face To Face as their guitarist.



In 2008 Derek debut with a solo cd.



Previously Derek Grant drummed with The Suicide Machines, Telegraph, Gyga, Thoughts of Ionesco, Remainder, Walls of Jericho,The Exceptions and Broken Spoke, a side band with Royce Nunley and Jay Navarro.



Derek Grant currently resides in Indianapolis.
