For over seven years David Reeves has been the Percussion Director for the University of Washington Husky Marching Band. David studied Composition at Indiana University's School of Music and received a degree in Percussion Performance from the University of Washington's School of Music. His former teachers include Tom Collier, Mike Crusoe, Tim Salzman, Gerald Carlyss, Don Freund and Thom Hannum.
As a composer and arranger, David Reeves's works have been performed in the University Percussion Ensembles, Drum Corps, and High Schools throughout the U.S. and Japan. Some of his works are available through TapSpace Publications. The current WGI Scholastic World gold medalist and BOA finalist, Center Grove High School is among the many groups for which he writes.
David's work in the drum corps arena includes having been a member of the DCI World Champion Star of Indiana, and has served on the percussion staff for the 6 time DCI World Champion, Santa Clara Vanguard, the Seattle Cascades, and is currently on the percussion staff for 6 time DCI World Champion, The Cavaliers.
David Reeves is also an established performer and educator in the area of solo and concert percussion literature and drumset. He is a member of the Seattle Percussive Arts Ensemble and is also the director of the newly formed Seattle Sonics Jam Session.
David Reeves is an endorser and clinician for Pearl/Adams Inc. and Innovative Percussion. He resides in Seattle, Washington with his wife Krista.
