David 'Dave' Clark (Tottenham, North London, 1942) was the band's drummer, leader and namesake of the highly successful 1960s English pop rock group The Dave Clark Five (also known as "The DC5").



Dave Clark, who played drums at the front of the stage, relegating the guitarists and keyboard to his rear and sides, formed the band around 1959.



Clark was also responsible for the West End musical Time.
