After many fruitful years in the music business (starting at the very tender age of 4) - from a background of jazz and big bands plus a smattering of rock, pop and Latin - Crissy Lee is well respected and admired as one of the UK's most experienced professional musicians by her peers and musical colleagues.
Crissy Lee's expertise was honed by working alongside such celebrities as The Beatles, Dinah Washington, Al Jarreau, Maynard Ferguson, Kathy Stobart and Don Lusher. She has a series of TV appearances to her credit including appearances with the Jack Parnell Big Band, a featured guest spot with Jack Parnell and Ronnie Verrell as well as appearances with The Ray Conniff Orchestra, Johnnie Patrick and many others throughout Europe.
With her own series of projects - ranging (in size) from the renowned 13-piece Crissy Lee Jazz Orchestra down to the Crissy Lee Trio - she has performed at numerous jazz festivals in the UK (Glasgow Intl., Birmingham, Edinburgh, Marlborough, Clacton, Greenwich etc.), Europe (Cork, Eire -Armentiere, France - Germany, Spain and throughout the rest of the world (South Africa, Egypt, Australia).
Since 2000 Crissy has worked closely with Paul Stevenson. Inspired by each other's musical talent, they have tremendous respect for each other. This inspiration has created their current project - a recently recorded CD performed by the Jazz Orchestra with Paul writing specifically for Crissy as the central, driving force of the band.
Having never considered herself a "purist" in the true jazz sense, this project enables Crissy, through the orchestrations written by Paul, to highlight the other musical influences that also play a huge part in her musical make-up.
Crissy Lee also holds a successful Percussion Studio called 'Fiddlesticks'. Currently she can be seen every week on the Frank Skinner show.
