Drummer Chris Corsano is an artist playing underground hybrids of noise, folk, free improvisation, psych and a lot of other styles - as long as it isn't mainstream.
Corsano has played with Cold Bleak Heat, Vampire Belt, Vampire Can’t, Paul Flaherty (using the moniker The Hated Music), Davey Williams, LaDonna Smit, Dredd Foole, Matt Valentine, and Sunburned Hand Of The Man.
2005 saw Corsano move to the United Kingdom.
Chris Corsano started more or less when he was 13 years old, because his older brother Tony played drums (and still does). His mother plays drums too by the way. Says Chris: "I'm mostly self-taught, a couple of months of lessons when I first started, but they took all the fun out of it. My brother gave me some pointers, too, but I never had the discipline for doing rudiments/practice, so I learned by drumming along to a boom box."
He names Mitch Mitchell, Ginger Baker, Keith Moon, and John Bonham as main influences when he started playing drums.
