Brian Del Signore is the Principal Percussionist and Associate Principal Timpanist of the Houston Symphony. He joined Houston Symphony in 1986.
Born in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, Brian Del Signore began piano studies at age six and drums at age eleven. While studying with the percussionists of the Pittsburgh Symphony, he earned a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from Carnegie-Mellon University. Mr. Del Signore also has a Masters in Music from Temple University where he studied with Alan Abel of the Philadelphia Orchestra.
Before coming to Houston, Brian Del Signoree was principal percussionist for one year with the Grand Rapids Symphony in Michigan, and performed extensively as an extra percussionist with the Pittsburgh Symphony and several times with the Philadelphia Orchestra.
Brian Del Signore has also performed with the orchestras of Pittsburgh Opera, Opera Company of Philadelphia, and the Pittsburgh New Music Ensemble. The Houston Symphony keeps a busy fifty-two week a year schedule playing classical, pops, and educational orchestral concerts in Houston, and tours in the United States and internationally.
Brian Del Signore also keeps a recording studio in his home, and amongst other work in recent years, has enjoyed producing music for children.
