Brian Chase is drummer with the New York rock band Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Following the smash success of their fourth release, 'Fever to Tell', The Yeah Yeah Yeahs have been winning fans over with their blend of lo-fi energetic punk songs. They work on their second full length in the summer of 2007
Brian has also been touring Europe with his other project The Seconds, who released their new record by the end of 2007.
Brian Chase grew up in Long Island and attended Friends Academy in Locust Valley, and Oberlin Conservatory of Music, Oberlin, Ohio.
Now living in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Brian Chase also plays for the rock band The Seconds. He used to play drums for his longtime girlfriend Emily Manzo's band, until the pair split in 2006.
Brian Chase has always been an adventurous player and has sat in with many other groups, including Oakley Hall and Blarvuster. He has also performed in a number of experimental duos with other musicians such as Stefan Tcherepnin and Seth Misterka.
The CD 'Duo', result of Biran's collaboration with Seth Misterka, was released in 2007 on the Australian Heathen Skulls label.
In addition, Brian Chase has been performing and recording jazz/experimental music with Jessica Pavone, Mary Halvorson, Matt Elliot, klezmer-fusion band The Sway Machinery, Susie Ibarra, Jim Black, Zach Hill, Ikue Mori, Jim O'Rourke, Kim Gordon, Mary Halvorson (Trevor Dunn's Trio Convulsant, Anthony Braxton), and Stefan Tcherepnin.
