Bikram Ghosh, the star tabla player, composer and lead person of the fusion band Rhythmscape has been making waves in each of his many Personas. Bikram trained under his father, the illustrious Tabla maestro Shankar Ghosh. Later, he also studied with the great Guru Gyan Prakash Ghosh. He also studied the intricacies of South Indian percussive traditions under celebrated mridangam player S Shekhar
Bikram regularly performs with the greatest names in Indian Classical Music such as Ravi Shankar, Ali Akbar Khan, Amjad Ali Khan from the North Indian tradition and with greats like Balamuralikrishna, Kadri Gopalnath, TN Krishnan, Karaikudi Mani from the South Indian tradition. For ten years now he has been the regular accompanist for Ravi Shankar with whom he has performed in almost every top venue in the world, among which are The Royal Albert Hall, London; The Kennedy Centre, Washington D.C.; The Palais De Beaux Arts, Brussels; Carnegie Hall, New York and many others.
Bikram has over forty recordings available worldwide. His solo cd's "Talking Tabla" and "A Tabla Odyssey" have met with accolades in international circuits and his many asociations with top western musicians such as George Harrison (Bikram recently recorded on Harrison's new album "Brainwashed"), Mstilav Rostropovich, Khaled Kouen, Yosi Levi and others has placed him in the top rung of Indian musicians in the international arena. Bikram played on last year's grammy award winning album "Full Circle" along with Ravi Shankar. This year his album with Anoushka Shankar was nominated for a grammy.
Bikram has been a lecturer at the reputed Rabindra Bharati and Vishwa Bharati Universities in India.
Of late Bikram has stepped into the world of music direction where he has already made a strong impact with his brand of fusion music. His group "Rhythmscape" has brought a unique dimension to the genre of fusion music.
The album "Rhythmscape" on SonyMusic is currently on the top of the charts.

In this project which has Bikram scoring a very different kind of music, popular singers like Shankar Mahadevan, Shaan and Antara Chowdhury sing to Bikram.s music. Besides Samaa, Bikram is scoring music for top notch Bollywood and Tollywood films.
