In February 2003 drummer Ara Babajian left Leftover Crack and replaced drummer Alan Teboul in the Slackers.
Leftover Crack continued with Brandon Chevalier-Kolling on drums until December 2004 when Brandon died of an overdose.
Formerly Ara Babajian had played with Agent 99, the King Django Band, The Trick Babys, Ruder Than You, Sic & Mad and The Skandalous All-Stars.
Between 1993 and 1993 New York ska band Agent 99 had a short yet influential career. Agent 99 never released an album, just a handful of 7-inches and a 6-song demo tape. After the band broke up, Ara Babajian left for Ruder Than You. "Little Pieces: 1993-1995" is a postume released anthology of Agent 99's best recorded and live material.
The King Django Band is Django's loud four-piece rock-reggae project. With
bassist Noah Shachtman, guitarist Agent Jay, and drummer Walter Teperino,
this band toured in support of the Reason album (Hellcat Records, 2001). In November of 2002 drummer Ara Babajian was recruited to replace Teperino.
The Skandalous All-Stars were conceived in the summer of 1996 by Shanachie A&R man Charlie B. Dahan and 5-time Grammy nominee Joe Ferry, who was also responsible for producing some of the legendary Skatalites most recent work. The lineup for the first album was culled from New York's fertile ska scene, with additional help from The Skatalite's Nathan Breedlove, Living Colour's Corey Glover, and the Cycle Sluts From Hell's own Donna Lupie. On the second album, the lineup remains essentially the same. Group leader Victor Ruggiero (keyboards, vocals) is one of the most talented musicians in American ska. Leader of The Slackers, key member of the Stubborn All-Stars, and founding member of punk/ska/reggae act Sic & Mad, Vic is easily one of the most recognizable and sought after people in today's ska world. Joining Vic from the Slackers is Marcus Geard, also of Sic & Mad, on bass, and TJ Scanlon on rhythm guitar. Other bandmates who join together for The Skandalous All-Stars are Greg Robinson (Trombone) and new member Brendog (lead guitar), both of the leading NYC satanic ska group Mephiskapheles. Also from the NYC scene comes drummer Ara Babajian. Ara is a veteran of the seminal ska/garage rock act Agent 99, and has gone on to play with the Trick Babys, Ruder Than You, and Sic & Mad. Unfortunately, Nathan was not able to join the all-stars for the second album due to a conflicting tour, but another NYC ska veteran, Dan Dulin (trumpet) was available to fill the position. Danny has been a member of virtually every New York ska group, among them Skinnerbox, The Stubborn All-Stars, and Murphy's Law. Joining Dan in the horn section and rounding out the group is saxophonist Doug Dubrosky, leader of Philly's own Ruder Than You. From the non-ska world, Donna Lupie once again joins the boys as a guest vocalist, along with session singer Britt Savage.
