Alan Myers joined the band Devo in late 1976, replacing drummer Jim Mothersbaugh.
Alan Myers stayed until 1985, after the release of after the album 'Shout'. He left the band because he saw his role diminishing as electronic drums became predominant.
Alan Myers was replaced by drummer David Kendrick, of Sparks.
More recently Alan Myers played drums in his wife's band, Babushka. He also played drums with the Asian-themed pop band Jean Paul Yamamoto, Skyline Electric, and Swahili Blonde.
